Case Study - Woodford
Woodford Bathroom Renovation Project
Helen and James longed to completely redesign their family bathroom in Woodford. The bathroom had not been updated since moving into the property over 6 years ago and was tired, worn out but also lacked space.
They had a bath that was too large for the space and there was no storage. They wanted a bathroom that was functional for them but also to maximise the space they had.
The Budget:
- Installation of plumbing works, bath, shower screen, vanity unit and sink
- Complete renovation for a defined, modern look.
- Flooring: New tiled flooring in monochrome pattern design
- Wall tiles: New tiles in metro tile
- Wall lights IP rated for ambience
- Painting throughout on non-tiled areas
- Plumbing: Installation of new towel radiator
What we did:
Concept / layout
- We started with an online consultation and questionnaire to understand Helena and James’s preferences, concerns, and challenges for their bathroom renovation. During our call, we arranged a property visit to explore these issues further and discuss potential solutions. After the visit, I created an initial mood board to ensure that our design vision was aligned with their expectations.
- We then designed a new layout for the bathroom, optimising functionality and creating much more space to meet their needs.
Design Development
01. Design
- We created a new bathroom design which involved a complete rip out of the original bathroom. To maximise storage and space, we cleverly flipped the positions of the bath and sink, and reduced the bath size to make the most of the available area.
- The bathroom design was crafted to maximise natural light, creating a bright and airy space. We used patterned monochrome tiles on the floor for visual interest and a muted blue for a light and breezy feel. Black accents were incorporated throughout to add contrast and elegance.
- We also included a brand new lighting and electrical design which included new lighting throughout as well as sockets.
- Once Helena and James were happy with the overall bathroom design, we finalised it with detailed visuals to give them a clear view of the space. We also sent a sample pack so they could see and feel all the materials and fittings, ensuring they understood how everything would look. After their final approval, we moved forward with planning the renovation and managing the entire project.
02. Project Management / Construction
- We created detailed drawings and work descriptions for our trusted trades and gathered quotes for the bathroom renovation, sparing the clients from the hassle of finding reliable tradesmen.
- To ensure a stress-free experience, we offered a turnkey service with full project management from concept to completion, including weekly site visits to oversee progress and address any issues.
03. Sourcing & Styling
- Since the clients found renovating their bathroom overwhelming, we handled all the stress by sourcing all the fixtures and fittings for them, passing on exclusive trade discounts.
- To complete the transformation, we returned for a final install to fix hand towels along with the toilet roll holder and final items
04. The results:
Helen and James’s home was completely transformed into a warm, inviting space with a contemporary modern Scandinavian design. The new design maximised the space and made their home work for all their needs, custom joinery and storage in both kitchen and bedroom improved functionality bringing a beautiful unique stylish feel that they always wanted. New windows and flooring elevated the overall comfort and aesthetic appeal ready for new Airbnb guests to arrive.
05. The impact:
